FOR SALE: Backyard Flyer
As
president of EAA Chapter 1171 here in New Bern, NC, I have had the pleasure
of meeting lots of great people: aviators, people who just love aviation,
people who support general aviation, and the people who love these people.
But recently, I have had the honor of meeting Peggy Martin of LaGrange, NC.
What a wonderful character. Peggy has asked me to help sell her beloved
husband Billy's BACKYARD FLYER. Tragically, Billy fell ill shortly after
delivery of his plane and has passed away. Peggy would like to sell
the plane to someone who will love and fly it. She will sell it for
just what she has in it: $30,000.
Now before you start wondering where the 'hitch' is, let me tell you I would
have bought it in the first 15 minutes I saw it if I could. It is only
upcoming surgery that keeps me from it…and truthfully, I haven't given up
totally.
Here is the link to an ad by the folks who built it: http://www.valleyengineeringllc.com/for-sale.php

- PULSAR II KIT FOR SALE
- After a lot of sincere soul searching I have decided
to sell my partially completed Pulsar II kit. A combination of family
and professional demands make it difficult for me to continue with any
kind of regular construction schedule. You must see the completed work
to appreciate the care and attention to detail that has gone into construction
thus far. I estimate that I am between 25 – 33% complete. The following
is a list of the major steps that I have completed to date:
- quick-build kit purchased
- all fuselage cutouts and bulkhead cutouts are complete
- complete installation of landing gear and associated
bulkheads
- installation of airvent doors and airvents
- installation of aft access door construction and
installation of vertical stabilizer
- construction and installation of rudder
- installation of tail skid construction and installation
of canopy (and an outstanding job if I do say so)
- installation of rudder pedals firewall and engine
mount
- installation installation of wing-step area and
tie-down fittings
- complete aileron construction
- complete flap construction
- complete elevator and horizontal stabilizer
- construction horizontal stabilizer splice tube
- installation rear window installation
- complete many other smaller steps and partially
completed items
- Please call for additional information call Larry Shrade: (803)
279-8182. Willing to consider trade for production aircraft. Detailed
documentation of all work completed (photos, logs, etc)
