Friday - Saturday, November 13 - 14: all day both days Fitzgerald Harmony Jubilee Festival  Fitzgerald Municipal Airport, Fitzgerald, Georgia 31750 (KFZG)  CTAF/UNICOM: 123.0  Pilots! We invite you to bring your WHOLE FAMILY and join Fitzgerald and surrounding area residents in our annual Harmony Jubilee Festival at Paulk Park Campground. Located on and adjacent to Fitzgerald Municipal Airport, we have something for every member of your family. With hot air balloon rides, kid’s zone, musical entertainment throughout the day, Civil War Encampment, an artisan market and great food, along with other events, there will be something for everybody in your family to enjoy. Not to mention all of the fun you will have getting here! Entrance charge only $5!
Flying into Fitzgerald Municipal Airport, land on the paved runway (2-20). (The grass strip will be closed for hot air balloon activities). Taxi to the old tarmac on the north end of the airport.  We will have signage directing you to a designated parking area for your airplane on the old tarmac. Just a note; there are tie down areas for your airplane but there are no ropes, so you may want to bring ropes or straps just in case it gets windy.

Saturday, November 14: EAA Sweet Onion Aviators Chapter 1332 - Breakfast 7:30 AM in Donald Brantley's hangar at the Vidalia Regional Airport (VDI), 2921 Airport Rd., Vidalia, Georgia 30474. CTAF/UNICOM 122.8. Glenn Goode, club secretary/treasurer, wrote that for November, the Sweet Onion Aviators is replacing the normally scheduled evening meeting with an “All You Can Eat” Pancake Breakfast Saturday morning from 7:30 AM to 10:00 AM.  In addition to the "all you can eat pancakes" (syrup choices will include cane as well as sugar free), we’re also serving sausage, scrambled eggs, juice, coffee, and milk.  There will be no charge for the breakfast. Donald Brantley, President of EAA 1332, wrote "After the pancake breakfast we will be showing a Bob Hoover movie for those that are interested. Also in December we will be having our yearly chapter Christmas party, which this year will be catered by Smiths in Reidsville. It is important that you RSVP with me or any of the other chapter officers so we can accurately plan. We also encourage you to bring your family members to join us in the fun. In the New Year we are going to move our monthly meeting to the second Thursday of the month at 7pm in my hanger. We hope with this change will allow more to attend. Saturday, December 12: EAA Sweet Onion Aviators Chapter 1332 - Christmas Party The members of EAA 1332 will have their Christmas Party at 7:00 PM in Donald Brantley's hangar at the Vidalia Regional Airport (VDI), 2921 Airport Rd., Vidalia, Georgia 30474. CTAF/UNICOM 122.8. It will be catered by Smiths from Reidsville. The cost is being covered by the use of EAA 1332 chapter funds (i.e. – its free). Secretary Glenn Goode wrote "But they will not cater unless we have a minimum of 25 folks. So I need each of you to RSVP. If we get 25 folks then it will be on. (OK if we have more than 30, we just need to tell the caterer). Ok to bring family members and/or guests – just provide their names /relationship to you, a club member.The hanger will be decorated in a Christmas theme, with Christmas music in the background.  Saturday, January 9: Special Monthly meeting of the EAA 172 Members This will be at 12:30 PM in the second floor portion of the Augusta Aviation FBO at the Daniel Field Airport (DNL). You may come as early as 11:00 AM to look around and tour the "new" FBO building. Augusta Aviation personnel told us that there is no auto parking fee. Also, there will be no ramp/tie-down charge for those flying in for the meeting. All the pilots have to do is to say that they are with EAA 172. Augusta Aviation will provide hamburgers but please bring desserts and side-dishes. Augusta Aviation personnel will present a program about ADS-B which is required for many aircraft by 2020. Saturday, January 9: 2016 Triple Tree Frosty Dog Electric - RC Event at the Triple Tree Aerodrome located between the towns of Woodruff and Enoree, SC, on Mary Hanna Road, Woodruff, SC 29388 (SC00).  Triple Tree Aviators would like to invite all RC pilots to come out Saturday January 9, 2016 to fly electric aircraft.  Join us for the coldest flying day of the year and bring any type of electric aircraft. Registration is $10. AMA required. No impound, just show up and fly. 72 MHz ok.  With all the new RC stuff you got for Christmas bring something old to sell.  Please, no camping, this is a one day event 8:30 to 6:30.

Lunch will be at 1:00 in the hangar (gas heat) rain or shine and include Frosty Dogs, Kirby Fries, Baked Beans, and Little Debbie’s.  Adults $10, 12 and under $5

All 6 flight lines are open for this event. Most people are at the Main and 3D.  The amount of swap shop items has also been growing each year-no charge.  So come out and join in the fun.

Saturday, February 13: 2016 Triple Tree Chilly Chili Fly-In and Lunch
at the Triple Tree Aerodrome located between the towns of Woodruff and Enoree, SC, on Mary Hanna Road, Woodruff, SC 29388 (SC00). Triple Tree Aviators would like to invite all aircraft and their pilots to come out Saturday February 13, 2016 for our Second annual Chilly Chili Fly-In and Lunch. Join us for lunch on the coldest flying day of the year and land on our 7000’ x 400’ grass strip. You must purchase lunch tickets online no later than Friday February 12, 2016 7:00 P.M. Drive ins are welcome. Please, no camping, this is a one day event, 9:00am till 5:00pm Lunch will be at 12:30 in the hangar (gas heat) rain or shine and includes: Homemade Chili, Fresh Bread, Cheese, Jalapenos, Corn Chips and dessert.  Adults $20, 12 and under $10. All proceeds go to Triple Tree Aerodrome. No landing fees or spectator fees

In the interest of keeping it simple when you land, please park on the west side of the runway in a single row. Do not park in front of the flags. There will be a shuttle bus to pick you up and take you to the hangar and patio for lunch. Fuel will not be available. Parking will begin south of the termination point of the white fence. There will be ground personnel to assist with parking and a shuttle bus to pick you up. Come on, you know that beautiful aircraft needs to get the oil circulating!

Saturday, February 20: EAA Chapter 1350 Hamburger Lunch At the LaGrange-Callaway Airport (KLGC), LaGrange, Georgia.  CTAF 122.975. From 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM. Our lunch will be at the LaGrange Callaway Airport (KLGC) and for only $5.00 you will be treated to a fresh-off-the-grill hamburger, chips, drinks, and all the sunshine you can soak in. We have a hamburger lunch in the winter so the weather will be warmer and the sunshine brighter, and in only a month, spring will be peeking around the corner. Our hamburger lunches and pancake breakfasts are always great events and you will enjoy yourself. Take advantage of some great weather in the winter and treat yourself to some great food and great company. We’ll have a hamburger waiting for you that you will really enjoy.

Tuesday, March 1: Savannah EAA Chapter 1514: "An Evening with Carol Ann Garratt" When: Tuesday, March 1 at 6:00 PM. Savannah Aviation and EAA 1514 Savannah present: World-Rounder and Record Holder, Carol Ann Garratt, who will will share her amazing story of circumnavigating the globe and the personal experiences that motivated her. Ms. Garratt has set multiple records in distance flying, going around the world in her J-Model Mooney, all for ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). The meeting will be at Savannah Aviation's hangar. Saturday, May 7: 1st Saturday Aviation Program & Breakfast -- EAA 690  Gwinnett County's Briscoe Field, Lawrenceville, Georgia (KLZU). The 1st Saturday in May Aviation Program and Pancake Breakfast will be presented by our own Randy Epstein.  Randy will be covering using the chapter website(s) and the many features it offers each of us as members.  Along with that Randy and John Morgan will hold a question, answer and suggestions period to talk about the things the chapter is not currently doing that you feel could enhance the chapter experience for you and your fellow members. In addition, those of you who remember Stone Mountain Airport will also remember Jim Jones who was one of the owner/operators.  Jim still flies his Swift and will be making a short presentation on the Swift Museum Foundation located in Athens, TN.

On May 21-22, 2016, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., the United States Air Force's aerial demonstration team is scheduled to bring the noise over the skies of Shaw Air Force Base, South Carolina. Their demonstrations and feats of wingmanship display just how remarkable the United States Air Force really is. Saturday, June 11: 2016 Fabric & Tailwheel Lunch at the Triple Tree Aerodrome located between the towns of Woodruff and Enoree, SC, on Mary Hanna Road, Woodruff, SC 29388 (SC00).  Triple Tree Aviators would like to invite all Fabric covered and Tailwheel aircraft and their pilots to come out Saturday June 11th, 2016 for our third annual all Fabric and Tailwheel Fly-In and Lunch.  Join us for lunch and land on our 7000’ x 400’ grass strip. Drive ins are welcome.  Please, no camping, this is a one day event, sunup till sundown.

Lunch will be Saturday at 12:30 on the hangar patio rain or shine and include:  Pork Loin cooked on the rotisserie, Bake potatoes, Salad and dessert.  Adults $20, 12 and under $10. There are no landing or spectator fees, for this event. The lunch ticket covers everything, except your fuel to get here and back home. All proceeds go to Triple Tree Aerodrome.

In the interest of keeping it simple when you land, please park on the east side of the runway in a single row. There will be a shuttle bus to pick you up and take you to the hangar and patio for lunch. Fuel will not be available.

Saturday June 11: 20th Annual Fly-in at the Asheboro Municipal Airport (HBI), Asheville, North Carolina.  Celebrating its 20th year, the 2016 Annual Fly-In will be held on Saturday, June 11, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 and children under 5 are admitted free. Parking at the event is also free. Organizers expect a large number of vintage airplanes as well as members of the 82nd Airborne wearing authentic World War II uniforms. Proceeds from the event will support the N.C. Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame. There will be a large contingent of re-enactors from a regiment of the 82nd Airborne in authentic World War II uniforms. They may even put together a little skirmish during the day. Make sure to visit with the re-enactors and learn more about the history of World War II as seen through the re-enactor’s eyes. There will also be numerous food vendors with hamburgers, hot dogs, shaved ice, funnel cake, bratwursts and freshly squeezed lemonade and orangeade, souvenirs and aircraft on display — from warbirds to ultralights.

Saturday, August 27: One-year Anniversary of the Southeast Aviators Fly-in The one-year anniversary of the the inaugural fly-in for the Southeast Aviators will be held Aug 27 at 11 a.m. at Donaldson Jet Center at Donaldson Field Airport (KGYH) in Greenville, South Carolina The agenda for this fly-in will contain various speakers to include an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME), who will discuss the upcoming changes to the third class medical, as well as an avionics installer to discuss options for complying with the upcoming ADS-B requirement. There will also be static displays of various single and twin engine aircraft. The event is designed to be a good time for pilots as well as anyone interested in aviation. Attendance for the event is free of charge. On September 10th there will be an Aerial Scavenger hunt as a competition between Pilots (Hawks) and Bikers (Hawgs)  taking place at KCUB (Columbia SC Downtown Airport). Event begins at 9:00 am for a briefing. Then the Flight(s) followed by a lunch and awards announced at the included catered luncheon. The entrance Fee / Donation will go toward benefiting Kamp Kemo which provides a Summer Camp for Children undergoing Chemo Treatment to attend a Summer Camp with their siblings. Doctors, nurses and many others volunteer their time towards this Camp to help children and their families dealing with such difficulties. Most activities will be on Friday and Saturday with the main activities on Saturday. You may come earlier in the week if you wish. On Saturday there will be a Bar-B-Q lunch which will start serving around noon and run until about 1:00 pm. The donation for this delicious meal will be only $6. Refreshments available the remainder of the day. Packing-up day on Sunday. Pattern for the asphalt, main, runway, is left-hand pattern for runway 29 and right-hand for runway 11 at 1450' MSL (1000 ft AGL) unless flying an ultralight or  rotorcraft which should use 950' MSL (500' AGL). Saturday - Sunday, September 24 - 25: 2016 Atlanta Warbirds Weekend: Dekalb-Peachtree Airport (KPDK) located in Chamblee, Georgia, just northeast of Atlanta. Photographers are invited to participate in aviation workshops in conjunction with Atlanta Warbirds Weekend (AWW), Sept. 24 and 25 at Dekalb Peachtree Airport in Chamblee, Ga. 3G Aviation Media photo workshops are scheduled Saturday with an additional editing workshop and a sunrise photo shoot on Sunday. New this year is an air-to-air photo experience on Saturday. Interested photographers are encouraged to sign up early because past workshops have sold out, according to organizers. This year’s AWW program features the AVG Flying Tigers and the largest gathering of Curtiss P-40 Warhawks in 50 years. At least 10 P-40s are expected to fly in for the event in conjunction with the 75th anniversary of the American Volunteer Group (AVG).

Saturday, October 15: EAA Chapter 1211 Fall - Chili Fly-in  Come join us for our annual Chili Fly-in on October 15. 10:00 am until 2:00 pm or so.  Fifteen of the best Crock Pots of Chili in the mountains.  Desserts, drinks, and good fellowship with pilots from around the area. A $5 meal donation appreciated. EAA Chapter 690, located at Lawrenceville’s Briscoe Field, will host Delta Captain (Ret.) Connie Bowlin on November 5, 2016.  Captain Bowlin will be talking about how she got into aviation and her life as a flight Attendant, Sport Aviation Pilot, Commercial Pilot and Warbird Pilot. Connie holds Type ratings in the B-767, B-757, CE-500, DC-3 and others including Warbird aircraft such as the P-51 Mustang, and B-17.  In addition her license reads “All makes and models of Single and Multi-Engine Piston powered authorized aircraft”. Listed authorized aircraft include the F4U, P-40, AD1, Douglas B-26, T-28, P-47, T-33, etc. Connie is currently serving as President of the EAA Warbirds of America.

Saturday, November 19: Young Eagles Rally & Low Country Boil -- EAA 690  Gwinnett County's Briscoe Field, Lawrenceville, Georgia (KLZU). Saturday, January 7: 2017 Triple Tree Frosty Dog Electric - RC Event at the Triple Tree Aerodrome located between the towns of Woodruff and Enoree, SC, on Mary Hanna Road, Woodruff, SC 29388 (SC00). Triple Tree Aviators would like to invite all RC pilots to come out Saturday January 7, 2017 to fly electric aircraft.  Join us for the coldest flying day of the year and bring any type of electric aircraft. Registration is $15. AMA required. Just show up and fly. 72 MHz ok. With all the new RC stuff you got for Christmas bring something old to sell. Please, no camping, this is a one day event 8:30 to 6:30.
   
Lunch will be at 1:00 in the hangar (gas heat) rain or shine and include Frosty Dogs, Kirby Fries, Baked Beans, and Little Debbie’s.  Adults $10, 12 and under $5
  
All 6 flight lines are open for this event. Most people are at the Main and 3D.  The amount of swap shop items has also been growing each year-no charge.  So come out and join in the fun.
