Friday, April 25th is the "Early Bird Day".   There will be a special Barbecue Supper  [for EAA 172 members, the tractor owners, and their guests], at 6:00 PM on Friday evening. There will be barbecue so bring any sidedishes you want. Farm tractor display on the field on Saturday.

Saturday, Sunday, June 7-8: EAA Chapter 863 --- WW II Memorial event on the 64th anniversary of D-Day at the Lebanon (TN) Municipal Airport (M54). Free Admission !! Bring the family !! Stay all Day !! This event is free to the public. The EAA Warbird Chapter 1 has scheduled a meeting on that weekend at Lebanon as well so there'll be plenty of warbirds to get
close to. We will also include a large Army tent as a theater showing movies, Victory at Sea episodes, etc., and speaker platforms. The re-enactment will be superb. And, there will be a P-51 and SBD Dauntless giving rides (flight experiences because they are both dual control). These rides can be purchased or you may take part in the
drawing.  There will only be 500 drawing tickets sold and to date (05/11/08) there are only a handful purchased. The
chances of winning are great. We are a 501(c)(3) corporation so your purchase is totally tax deductable. The drawing for the flights is May 31st. Contact Gary Piper for ticket purchases and more info.

The Banquet will be held on Saturday night. The Board decided to keep the PRA convention in the week after the EAA convention at Oshkosh. This is to avoid instructors and others from having to leave the PRA convention early in order to get set up at the EAA convention. Jane Feldman and John Gillmore are the co-Chairpersons for 2008.  They need volunteers to help organize, plan and work at the convention. Wrens Fall Fly-in
At the beautiful Wrens Municipal Airport (65J) CTAF 122.7. Early-Early Bird Day Wednesday, October 8th, Early Bird Day Thursday, October 9th. Most activities will be on Friday and Saturday with the main activities on Saturday. Delicious barbecue hot dogs and hamburgers available on the field all day Saturday. Potluck Banquet around the fire on Saturday evening hosted by a member of a flying club. Packing-up day on Sunday. Pattern for the asphalt, main, runway,  is left-hand pattern for runway 29 and right-hand for runway 11  at 1450' MSL (1000 ft AGL) unless flying an ultralight or  rotorcraft which should use 950' MSL (500' AGL). The parallel grass strip will have a right-hand pattern.  CTAF/UNICOM 122.7 mhz. Runway (11/29) lights MIRL; runway lights on from dusk to dawn.  Field elevation 450 feet.

Saturday-Sunday, October  18-19: Boshears Skyfest 2008 - the 16th Annual Boshears Memorial Fly-In and Airshow : Daniel Field, Augusta, Georgia. (DNL) Elev: 423 ft. CTAF/Unicom: 123.05 mhz. LIGHTS: Activate MIRL for 05/23 & 11/29 123.05 mhz. USE UNICOM TO CALL IN. FAA TOWER OPERATIONAL ON THE FIELD DURING THE FLY-IN -- Airshow frequency - 119.725 mhz -- Augusta Approach - 126.8 mhz.    GPS: N33°28'00" W82°02'36", 100LL & Jet A. Parking, Basic Camping, Food, Vendors, EAA Chapter 172.
Many performing airshow acts. The Trenton Flyers will be there with their light planes. Free PeopleMover transportation around and throughout the Skyfest area. Also, over 200 antique and classic automobiles will be on display on Saturday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. On Sunday morning, October 19, there will be a non-denominational Worship Service on the field at 8:00 AM.  GENERAL ADMISSION: (unknown at this time on 05/13/08; last year it was $15 at the gate; $12.00 advanced). Children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult. NO COOLERS - NO PETS - NO REFUNDS.
